MINISTRY OF HEALTHCARE OF SVERDLOVSK REGION

The Ural Commissariat for Health Care was established and started its activity in March 1918. 12 years later the Health Care Department of Sverdlovsk region was re-arranged into the Ministry of health of Sverdlovsk region by the Decree of the Governor of Sverdlovsk region dated of July, 23, 1998 № 320 “About the structure of Executive Authorities of Sverdlovsk region”.

The Ministry of healthcare has envisaged the further development of particularized and highly particularized medical care, IT development of public health service, drafting of the state regional purpose-oriented programme “Preventing and fighting socially significant diseases in Sverdlov Oblast for 2009-2011”, emergency development programme and many others.

EKATERINBURG CITY ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT Of HEALTH

The Department of Health is a division of the Ekaterinburg City Administration. The Department celebrated 70 years in 2002. The main objectives of the Department of Health are as follows: organization of medical service in Ekaterinburg, control over the quality of medical services provided by the municipal clinics, launching of modern technologies and development of municipal medical establishments in the city.

The Department of Health is responsible for 40 municipal medical and preventive treatment facilities: area multifield hospitals for adult population, area multifield hospitals for children, city clinics, diagnostic centers, dental policlinics, city medical exercises dispensary, city medical center for prevention, Emergency Call Centers.

THE URAL SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF MATERNITY AND CHILD PROTECTION OF ROSMEDTECHNOLOGIES

The idea of featuring the “Mother and Child” Exhibition together with the 1^st Congress of Obstetric Gynecologists belongs to the FGU “Ural Scientific and Research Institute of Maternity and Child Protection of Rosmedtechnologies” and RTE-Group exhibition company. In 2009 the companies decided to joint efforts and to introduce the new project in Ural region.

For the several decades the FGU “Ural Scientific and Research Institute of Maternity and Child Protection of Rosmedtechnologies” has been a scientific and practical centre for obstetrics, gynecology, perinatology and neonatology in Ural region. Every year, starting from 2005, the FGU “Ural Scientific and Research Institute of Maternity and Child Protection of Rosmedtechnologies” organizes the scientific conferences in Yekaterinburg.

THE URAL STATE MEDICAL ACADEMY

The Ural State Medical Academy (USMA) initially was established as the Sverdlovsk State Medical Institute in 1930. In 1995 the institute was justly granted with the status of the Academy. The USMA today is a leading medical institution of higher education in the Ural region. Over 4 000 students study at the Academy’s 8 departments. The Academy trains medical specialists who are on demand in the towns and communities of Sverdlovsk region, at the whole area of the Ural region and beyond.
